Freebee Friday: Dinner Conversation Role Play

freebee friday Look folks, here’s another CCSS-aligned activity and this one includes reading, writing, and speaking & listening components! It’s a three-in-one and, best of all, students love it.

Use this Dinner Conversation Role Play activity to guide Grade 7–12 students toward achieving these Common Core State Standards goals:

R.CCR.2 Determine central ideas or themes of a text and analyze their development; summarize the key supporting details and ideas.
W.CCR.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences.
SL.CCR.1 Prepare for and participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations with diverse partners, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively.
