I just learned about a great Web 2.0 tool for teachers to give student feedback on papers. As we know, writing copious comments about student writing is not the most effective method for providing feedback. Teachers spend hours and hours toiling over writing student comments and our students don’t read them!

Audio Boo is a Web 2.0 tool that makes it easy for you to record comments in a file that can be emailed to a student or posted on a website. I’ve tried the program and used it with tremendous success in providing feedback to my graduate students. They have indicated that they have more extensive feedback than they usually receive on their writing and have a permanent file that can be replayed if they have questions.
